Starting off as a Welfare Rights Officer, Lynn has worked in the field of poverty prevention for the past 25 years. Previous posts have included managing director of Craigowl Communities, a skills and training charity in Dundee, as well as being the national development officer for adult financial capability with Education Scotland. With experience of working across Scotland, Lynn was the East Scotland Champion with the DWP’S Now Let’s Talk Money campaign, and was an advisor to the Money for Life programme delivered through Colleges Development Network.

In April 2016 the government introduced a higher statutory minimum wage rate for all staff over 25 years of age, and referred to it as the ‘National Living Wage’.

The government intends the higher minimum wage rate for over 25s to reach 60% of median earnings by 2020. Current estimates suggest this would mean a rise to around £9 per hour by 2020.
